Minor league report: Nailers roll past Royals

Goaltender Taylor Gauthier made 34 saves on 35 shots for the Wheeling Nailers in a 3-1 win against the Reading Royals at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va. on Sunday.

The result boosted Gauthier’s record to 17-10-2.

Forwards Gabe Klassen and Eli Lieffers as well as defenseman Mats Lindgren all scored goals for Wheeling (41-24-3-1, 86 points) in its final home game of the regular season.

Highlights:

The Nailers’ next game is a road contest against the Trois-Rivières Lions on Friday, 7 p.m.
