Minor league report: Nailers snap losing streak with overtime win

An overtime goal by forward Brooklyn Kalmikov gave the Wheeling Nailers a 5-4 road win against the Toledo Walleye at the Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio, on Friday.

Forward Cam Hausinger had two goals and an assist for Wheeling (11-13-1-0), which snapped a four-game losing streak, while defenseman Josh Maniscalco contributed a goal and two assists. Goaltender Taylor Gauthier made 33 saves on 37 shots in the victory.

Highlights:

The Nailers’ next game is a road contest against the Reading Royals on Wednesday, 7 p.m.

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins’ road game against the Laval Rocket on Friday was postponed indefinitely due to inclement weather.

A make-up date has yet to be announced.

The Penguins’ next scheduled game is a home contest against the rival Hershey Bears on Tuesday, 7:05 p.m.
