The Wheeling Nailers claimed their 12th consecutive win on Saturday with a 3-0 shutout of the Reading Royals at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.

With the victory, the Nailers tied a franchise record — since moving to Wheeling in 1992 — for longest winning streak. The 2003-04 Nailers initially set the mark between Feb. 20-March 10.

Goaltender Taylor Gauthier made 25 saves to record his second shutout of the season at the ECHL level and improved his record to 18-11-1.

Forward Jordan Martel’s hat trick accounted for all the offense by Wheeling (28-16-1-1) while defenseman Isaac Belliveau contributed two assists.

Highlights:

The Nailers’ next game is a road contest against the Utah Grizzlies on Friday, 9:10 p.m.
