Minor league report: Nailers top Komets

A goal and two assists by forward Jordan Martel led the Wheeling Nailers to a 4-1 home win against the Fort Wayne Komets at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va. on Wednesday.

Forward Justin Addamo recorded two assists for Wheeling (37-28-4-1) while forwards Jordan Frasca, David Jankowski and Tanner Laderoute all contributed a goal.

Goaltender Jaxon Castor made 31 saves on 32 shots to improve his record to 9-4-1.

Highlights:

The Nailers’ next game is a home contest against the Cincinnati Cyclones on Friday, 7:10 p.m.

Note: Penguins forward prospect Maxim Cajkovic was loaned to the Slovakian national team. Acquired in a trade with the Minnesota Wild on Jan. 25, Cajkovic split time between Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Wheeling following the transaction. His most recent game came on March 24 with Wheeling. Cajkovic is in the final year of a three-year entry-level contract with a salary cap hit of $850,833
