Minor league report: Nailers win 10th consecutive game

Two goals by forward Jordan Martel led the Wheeling Nailers to a 3-1 road win against the Reading Royals at Santander Arena in Reading on Tuesday. The victory extended a winning streak to 10 games.

Defenseman David Drake recorded two assists for Wheeling (26-16-1-1) while forward Dillon Hamaliuk contributed a goal.

Goaltender Jaxon Castor made 25 saves on 26 shots to improve his record to 7-1-0.

Highlights:

Since moving to Wheeling in 1992, the franchise’s longest winning streak is a 12-game stretch between Feb. 20-March 10, 2004.

The Nailers’ next game is a home contest against the Royals on Friday, 7:10 p.m.
