Minor league report: Nailers win 9th consecutive game

A goal at 1:46 of overtime by forward Tanner Laderoute gave the Wheeling Nailers a 4-3 home win against the Orlando Solar Bears at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va. on Sunday. It was the Nailers’ ninth consecutive victory.

Laderoute had two goals in the win while forward Matthew Quercia contributed a goal and an assist for Wheeling (25-16-1-1).

Goaltender Taylor Gauthier’s record improved to 17-11-1 after he made 22 saves on 25 shots.

Highlights:

Since moving to Wheeling in 1992, the franchise’s longest winning streak is a 12-game stretch between Feb. 20-March 10, 2004.

The Nailers’ next game is a road contest against the Reading Royals on Tuesday, 10:30 a.m.
