Minor league report: P.O Joseph scores again as Penguins lose

Defenseman P.O Joseph scored the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins’ lone goal in a 3-1 road loss to the Rochester Americans at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, N.Y. on Wednesday.

Joseph has scored goals in four of his past five games. Goaltender Alex D’Orio made 17 saves on 19 shots for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (18-18-2-3).

Highlights:

The Penguins’ next game is a home contest against the Belleville Senators on Friday, 7:05 p.m.

Two goals by forward Nick Hutchison led the Wheeling Nailers to a 4-1 road win against the Kalamazoo Wings at the Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo, Mich.

Forward Justin Almeida, a Penguins prospect, recorded two assists for Wheeling (23-18-1-0) while goaltender Brody Claeys made 30 saves on 31 shots in the victory.

The Neailers’ next game is a home contest against the Atlanta Gladiators on Friday, 7:10 p.m.
