Minor league report: Penguins beat Bears in overtime, advance to semifinal

An overtime goal by forward Alex Nylanders gave the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins a series-clinching 4-3 home win against the rival Hershey Bears in Game 3 of their Atlantic Division first-round matchup at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Monday.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton claimed the best-of-three-series, 2-1 and will face the Springfield Thunderbirds in the division semifinal round which is a best-of-five series.

Forward Radim Zohorna had a goal and an assist for the Penguins while defenseman Matt Bartkowski and forward Sam Poulin also contributed goals. Goaltender Tommy Nappier made 34 saves on 37 shots in the victory.

Game 1 – Wednesday, May 11, at Springfield, 7:05 p.m.

Game 2 – Thursday, May 12, at Springfield, 7:05 p.m.

Game 3 – Sunday, May 15, at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, 5:05 p.m.

Game 4 – Monday, May 16, at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, 7:05 p.m. (if necessary)

Game 5 – Wednesday, May 18, at Springfield, 7:05 (if necessary)
