Minor league report: Penguins beat Islanders in shootout

Shootout goals by forwards Sam Poulin, Aaron Huglen, Valtteri Puustinen and Rafael Harvey-Pinard gave the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins a 5-4 win against the Bridgeport Islanders at Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, Conn., on Wednesday.

Goaltender Maxim Pavlenko made 24 saves on 28 shots in regulation and overtime, then stopped two of five shootout attempts as his record improved to 2-0-1.

Poulin scored two regulation goals for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (10-3-1-0) while Huglen collected a regulation goal and an assist.

Penguins defenseman Sebastian Aho returned to the lineup after missing the previous nine games due to an undisclosed injury.

The Penguins’ next game is a home contest against the Islanders on Friday, 7:05 p.m.
