Goaltender Joel Blomqvist made 22 saves on 24 shots for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 3-2 win against the Cleveland Monsters at Rocket Arena in Cleveland on Friday.

The result improved Blomqvist’s record to 10-4-3.

Forwards Atley Calvert, Ville Koivunen and Aidan McDonough all scored goals for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (36-13-3-2), which extended a winning streak to four games.

Penguins forward Melvin Fernstrom was scratched due to an undisclosed injury.

Highlights:

The Penguins’ next game is a road contest against the Monsters on Saturday, 4 p.m.

Goaltender Taylor Gauthier tied the Wheeling Nailers’ franchise record for career goaltending wins in a 7-2 victory against the Kalamazoo Wings at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.

Stopping eight of 19 shots, Gauthier (60-39-9) matched the mark previously established by Andy Franck (60-41-9).

The result improved Gauthier’s record on the season to 10-6-4.

Wheeling (31-14-4-1) set a new record for fewest shots against, eclipsing the previous mark of 13 set during the 1994-95 season.

Forward Craig Armstrong scored two goals for the Nailers while forward Ryan McAllister contributed a goal and two assists.
