Minor league report: Penguins close out preseason by beating Phantoms

A pair of goals by forward Jordan Frasca helped the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins conclude their preseason with a 5-2 win against the rival Lehigh Valley Phantoms at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

Forwards Jagger Joshua and Lukas Svejkovsky each had a goal and an assist for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton while defenseman Dmitri Samorukov recorded two assists. Goaltender Taylor Gauthier made 25 saves on 27 shots as the Penguins finished the preseason with a 3-1-0 record.

Highlights:

The Penguins are scheduled to open the regular season with a home contest against the Charlotte Checkers on Friday, 7 p.m.
