Minor league report: Penguins edged by Wolf Pack, Nailers drop home opener

Goaltender Louis Domingue made 29 saves on 33 shots for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 4-3 road loss to the Hartford Wolf Pack at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn. on Saturday.

Forwards Felix Robert, Jody Bellerive and Sam Poulin each scored goals for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (5-4-01) which has lost a season-worst three consecutive games.

The Penguins’ next game is a home contest against the Rochester Americans on Wednesday, 7:05 p.m.

Forward Shaw Boomhower had a goal and an assist for the Wheeling Nailers who lost their home opener, 5-2, to the Fort Wayne Komets at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.

Goaltender Tommy Nappier made 20 saves on 24 shots for Wheeling (2-3-0-0) while defenseman Dylan MacPherson also scored a goal.

Highlights:

The Nailers’ next game is a home contest against the Indy Fuel on Sunday, 4:10 p.m.
