Minor league report: Penguins fall to Bruins, 2-1

Goaltender Dustin Tokarski made 25 saves for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 2-1 road loss to the Providence Bruins at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, R.I. on Sunday.

Forward Cole Cassels scored the lone goal for the Penguins (27-21-3-5).

Highlights:

The Penguins’ next game is at home against the Bruins at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday, 7:05 p.m.

Forward Justin Almeida, a fifth-round pick of the Penguins in 2018, led the Wheeling Nailers to a 3-2 road win against the Brampton Beast at the CAA Centre in Brampton, Ont.

Goaltender Jordan Ruby made 27 saves for the Nailers (24-23-5-0) who snapped a three-game losing streak.

The Nailers’ next game is at home against the Maine Mariners at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling on 7:05 p.m.
