Goaltender Tommy Nappier made 25 saves on 29 shots for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 4-3 road loss to the Charlotte Checkers at Bojangles’ Coliseum in Charlotte, N.C. on Wednesday.

Forwards Jordy Bellerive, Kasper Bjorkqvist and defenseman P.O Joseph each scored goals for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (8-7-0-2).

Highlights:

The Penguins’ next game is a home contest against the Providence Bruins on Saturday, 6:05 p.m.

Goaltender Alex D’Orio made 34 saves on 35 shots for the Wheeling Nailers in a 5-1 home win against the Indy Fuel at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.

Foward Nick Hutchison scored two goals for Wheeling (6-6-0-0) while defenseman Will Reilly recorded three assists.

Highlights:

The Nailers’ next game is a road contest on Friday against the Iowa Heartlanders, 8 p.m.
