Minor league report: Penguins fall to Senators in overtime

Goaltender Taylor Gauthier made 20 saves on 22 shots for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 2-1 overtime home loss to the Belleville Senators at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

Forward Tyler Sikura scored the lone goal for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (22-22-3-5) which has lost four out of its past five games.

Highlights:

The Penguins’ next game is a road contest against the rival Hershey Bears on Wednesday, 7 p.m.

A hat trick by forward Tyler Drevitch led the Wheeling Nailers to a 6-3 home win against the Norfolk Admirals at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling.

Forward Luke Santerno scored two goals for Wheeling while forward Cédric Desruisseaux contributed a goal and three assists. Goaltender Brad Barone made 33 saves on 36 shots in the victory which extended a winning streak to three games for the Nailers.

Highlights:

The Nailers’ next game is a home contest against the Admirals on Sunday, 4:10 p.m.
