Minor league report: Penguins fall to Wolf Pack
Goaltender Filip Larsson made 14 saves on 19 shots for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 5-2 loss to the Hartford Wolf Pack at PeoplesBank Arena in Hartford, Conn., on Friday.
The result dropped his record to 3-1-1.
Forward Rafael Harvey-Pinard and defenseman Owen Pickering each scored a goal for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (12-4-1-0), which had a four-game winning streak snapped, while forward Gabe Klassen contributed two assists.
Highlights:
Penguins forward Rutger McGroarty, who recently returned to the ice after suffering an offseason injury, was a healthy scratch by design, while forward Avery Hayes returned to the Penguins’ lineup after missing six games due to an undisclosed ailment.
The Penguins’ next game is a road contest against the Providence Bruins on Saturday, 7:05 p.m.
Goaltender Maxim Pavlenko made 23 saves on 26 shots for the Wheeling Nailers in a 4-1 loss to the Reading Royals at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.
The result dropped Pavlenko’s record to 4-3-0.
Forward Matthew Quercia scored the lone goal for Wheeling (10-3-0-0)
