Minor league report: Penguins fall to Wolf Pack

Forward Gabe Klassen had two goals for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 4-3 loss to the Hartford Wolf Pack at Mohegan Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Friday.

Linemate Atley Calvert recorded two assists for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (24-11-1-2) while forward Aidan McDonough contributed a goal.

Goaltender Sergei Murashov made 28 saves on 32 shots as his record fell to 13-5-0.

Highlights:

Penguins defenseman Caleb Jones was scratched due to an undisclosed injury according to Inside AHL Hockey.

The Penguins’ next game is a home contest against the Wolf Pack on Saturday, 6:05 p.m.


Goaltender Taylor Gauthier made 23 saves on 25 shots for the Wheeling Nailers in a 2-1 loss to the Norfolk Admirals at the Norfolk (Va.) Scope.

The result dropped Gauthier’s record to 6-2-0.

Forward Logan Pietila scored the lone goal for Wheeling (25-8-1-0), which had a five-game winning streak halted.

The Nailers’ next game is a road contest against the Admirals on Saturday, 7:05 p.m.
