Minor league report: Penguins lose in overtime, Nailers' winning streak reaches 7

Forward Vinnie Hinostroza scored two goals for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Hartford Wolf Pack at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn. on Friday.

Goaltender Magnus Hellberg made 24 saves on 29 shots as his record fell to 8-6-2. Forwards Peter Abbadonato and Joona Koppanen also scored goals for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (23-16-6-0), which has lost three consecutive games.

The Penguins’ next game is a road contest against the rival Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Saturday, 7:05 p.m.

Goaltender Taylor Gauthier made 22 saves on 25 shots for the Wheeling Nailers in a 4-3 home win against the Orlando Solar Bears at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.

The result boosted Gauthier’s record to 15-11-1.

Forwards Justin Addamo and Matthew Quercia each recorded two assists for Wheeling (23-16-1-1) which extended a season-best winning streak to seven games. Forwards Cedric Desruisseaux, Matt Koopman, Tanner Laderoute and defenseman David Drake all scored goals for the Nailers.

The Nailers’ next game is a home contest against the Solar Bears on Saturday, 7:10 p.m.
