Minor league report: Penguins’ losing streak reaches 4

Goaltender Sergei Murashov made 20 saves on 23 shots for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 4-2 loss to the rival Hershey Bears at Mohegan Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Friday.

The result dropped Murashov’s record to 20-7-3.

Forward Melvin Fernstrom recorded two assists for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (36-14-5-2), which has lost four consecutive games.

The Penguins’ next game is a home contest against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Saturday, 6:05 p.m.


Goaltender Taylor Gauthier made 29 saves for the Wheeling Nailers in a 4-0 win against the Adirondack Thunder at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.

The result was Gauthier’s second shutout of the season and boosted his record to 13-7-5.

Forwards Raivis Ansons and Max Graham each had a goal and an assist for Wheeling (35-16-3-3).

Highlights:

The Nailers’ next game is a home contest against the Thunder on Saturday, 7:10 p.m.
