Minor league report: Penguins’ losing streak reaches 5

Goaltender Filip Lindberg made 33 saves on 35 shots for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 3-1 home loss to the Providence Bruins at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

Forward Valtteri Puustinen scored the lone goal for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (20-20-2-4), which has lost five consecutive games.

Highlights:

The Penguins’ next game is a home contest against the rival Hershey Bears on Wednesday, 7:05 p.m.

A hat trick by forward Justin Addamo led the Wheeling Nailers to a 10-2 rout of the Norfolk Admirals at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.

Forward Tyler Drevitch had two goals and two assists for Wheeling (20-21-5-0) while forward Brooklyn Kalmikov contributed a goal and three assists. Goaltender Brad Barone made 31 saves on 33 shots in the victory that snapped a five-game losing streak for the Nailers.

Highlights:

The Nailers’ next game is a road contest against the Iowa Heartlanders on Friday, 8:05 p.m.
