Minor league report: Penguins’ losing streak reaches 8

Forward Felix Robert had a goal and two assists for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 4-3 home loss to the rival Lehigh Valley Phantoms at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Friday.

Goaltender Alex D’Orio made 12 saves on 15 shots for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (9-15-1-3) which has lost eight consecutive games. Forwards Alexander Nylander and Valtteri Puustinen also scored goals for the Penguins.

Highlights:

The Penguins’ next game is a road contest against the Phantoms on Saturday, 7:05 p.m.

Goaltender Stefanos Lekkas made 23 saves on 28 shots for the Wheeling Nailers in a 6-2 road loss to the Orlando Solar Bears at the Amway Center in Orlando, Fla.

Forwards Justin Almeida and Tim Doherty each scored goals for Wheeling (15-14-1-0) which has lost five consecutive games.

The Nailers’ next game is a road contest against the Solar Bears on Saturday, 7 p.m.
