Minor league report: Penguins', Nailers' winning streaks reach 3

A pair of goals by forward Rafael Harvey-Pinard led the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to a 4-1 win against the rival Lehigh Valley Phantoms at Mohegan Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Friday. The result extended a winning streak to three games.

Forward Philip Tomasino recorded two assists for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (15-4-1-0) while forwards Gabe Klassen and Rutger McGroarty each contributed a goal. McGroarty has scored goals in all four games he has played this season.

Goaltender Sergei Murashov made 31 saves on 32 shots to improve his record at the American Hockey League level to 5-2-0.

The Penguins’ next game is a road contest against the Hershey Bears on Saturday, 7 p.m.


Forward Cole Tymkin and defenseman Scooter Brickey each scored two goals for the Wheeling Nailers in a 5-2 win against the Toledo Walleye at the Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio. The result extended a winning streak to three games.

Defensemen Finn Harding and Eric Parker both recorded two assists for Wheeling (13-3-0-0) while forward Craig Armstrong contributed a goal.

Goaltender Jake Smith made 30 saves on 32 shots as his record remained unblemished at 6-0-0.

The Nailers’ next game is a home contest against the Cincinnati Cyclones on Saturday, 7:10 p.m.
