Minor league report: Penguins open season with overtime loss to Phantoms

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins opened their season with a 3-2 overtime home loss to the rival Lehigh Valley Phantoms at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

Forward Alexander Nylander had a goal and an assist for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton while forward Sam Poulin also scored a goal. Goaltender Dustin Tokarski made 19 saves on 22 shots in the defeat.

Highlights:

The Penguins’ next game is a road contest against the Utica Comets on Monday, 7 p.m.
