Minor league report: Penguins, Rutger McGroarty tame Wolf Pack
A goal and two assists by forward Rutger McGroarty led the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to a 7-1 win against the Hartford Wolf Pack at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn. on Friday.
Forwards Avery Hayes, Mathias Laferriere, Vasily Ponomarev and Valtteri Puustinen each had a goal and an assist for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (30-15-7-1) while defenseman Nikolai Knyzhov contributed three assists.
Goaltender Filip Larsson made 24 saves on 25 shots to improve his record to 10-5-3.

Penguins forward Sam Poulin returned to the lineup after missing four games due to an undisclosed injury while forward Boris Katchouk was scratched due to illness according to Inside AHL Hockey.
The Penguins’ next game is a home contest against the Belleville Senators on Saturday, 6:05 p.m.
Goaltender Taylor Gauthier made 28 saves on 29 shots for the Wheeling Nailers in a 1-0 overtime loss to the Adirondack Thunder at Cool Insuring Arena in Glen Falls, N.Y.
The result dropped Gauthier’s record to a 10-7-2.
Wheeling (32-18-3-1) was shut out for the third time this season.
