A goal and an assist by forward Rutger McGroarty led the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to a 4-1 win against the Hartford Wolf Pack at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn. on Friday.

Defenseman Filip Kral recorded two assists for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (28-12-5-1) while forwards Avery Hayes, Boris Katchouk and Marc Johnstone all contributed a goal.

Goaltender Filip Larsson made 26 saves on 27 saves, improving his record to 8-4-2.

The Penguins’ next game is a road contest against the Springfield Thunderbirds on Saturday, 7:05 p.m.


Goaltender Sergei Murashov made 30 saves on 33 shots for the Wheeling Nailers in a 3-0 loss to the Tulsa Oilers at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.

The result dropped Murashov’s record to 15-6-1.

Limited to 17 shots, Wheeling (30-15-2-0) lost its fourth consecutive game and was shut out for the second time this season.

The Nailers’ next game is a home contest against the Oilers on Saturday, 7:10 p.m.
