Minor league report: Penguins, Sergei Murashov shut out Islanders

Goaltender Sergei Murashov made 25 saves for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 4-0 win against the Bridgeport Islanders at Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, Conn., on Sunday.

The result was Murashov’s third shutout of the season and boosted his record to 20-6-1.

Forwards Tanner Howe, Gabe Klassen and Aidan McDonough, as well as defenseman Phil Kemp, all scored goals for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (35-13-3-2) while forward Tristan Broz recorded two assists.

Highlights:

Penguins forwards Avery Hayes and Joona Koppanen were scratched for unspecified reasons.

The Penguins’ next game is a road contest against the Cleveland Monsters on Friday, 7 p.m.
