Minor league report: Penguins sink Islanders
A goal and an assist by forward Zach Gallant led the the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 5-2 win against the Bridgeport Islanders at Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, Conn. on Sunday.
Forward Sam Poulin recorded two assists for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (39-22-7-1, 86 points) while forwards Atley Calvert, Avery Hayes, Gabe Klassen and Nolan Renwick all contributed goals.
Goaltender Sergei Murashov made 30 saves on 32 shots in the victory, boosting his record to 12-3-0.

The Penguins’ next game is a home contest against the Providence Bruins on Wednesday, 7:05 p.m.
The Wheeling Nailers concluded their regular season with a 5-1 loss to the Trois-Rivières Lions at the Colisée Vidéotron in Trois-Rivières, Quebec.
Goaltender Jaxon Castor made 29 saves on 34 shots as his record fell to 6-7-1.
Forward Cole Tymkin scored the lone goal for Wheeling which had a three-game winning streak snapped.
The Nailers are slated to face the Norfolk Admirals in the first round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs. The schedule:
