Minor league report: Penguins, Taylor Gauthier shut out Monsters

In his first game of the season at the American Hockey League level, goaltender Taylor Gauthier made 32 saves for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in their regular season finale, a 3-0 win against the Cleveland Monsters at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

Defenseman Dan Renouf had a goal and an assist for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (40-24-7-1, 88 points) while forward Tristan Broz recorded two assists.

Highlights:

The Penguins finished in fourth place of the Atlantic Division and will face the rival Lehigh Valley Phantoms in a first-round best-of-three series. That series schedule:

April 23 – at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, 7:05 p.m.

April 25 – at Lehigh Valley, 7:05 p.m.

April 27 - at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, 6:05 p.m.-*
