Minor league report: Sam Poulin’s hat trick leads Penguins past Rocket

A hat trick by forward Sam Poulin led the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to a 6-2 home win against the Laval Rocket at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

Forward Felix Robert had a goal and an assist for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (24-23-4-4) which snapped a four-game losing streak while forward Anthony Angello and defenseman Juuso Riikola each contributed two assists. Goaltender Louis Domingue made 37 saves on 39 shots in the victory.

Highlights:

The Penguins’ next game is a home contest against the Hartford Wolfpack on Sunday, 3:05 p.m.

Goaltender Alex D’Orio made 27 saves on 34 shots for the Wheeling Nailers in a 9-1 home loss to the Reading Royals at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.

Forward Sean Josling scored the lone goal for Wheeling (30-23-1-0).

Highlights:

The Nailers’ next game is a home contest against the Royals on Sunday, 4:10 p.m.
