Minor league report: Tristan Broz scores twice as Penguins beat Phantoms

A pair of goals by forward Tristan Broz led the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to a 3-2 win against the rival Lehigh Valley Phantoms at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Friday.

Broz extended a goal-scoring streak to three games while forward Rutger McGroarty and defenseman Dan Renouf each recorded two assists for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (17-8-1-0).

Goaltender Filip Larsson made 29 saves on 31 shots, improving his record to 5-3-1.

Highlights:

The Penguins’ next game is a road contest against the Hershey Bears on Saturday, 7 p.m.


Goaltender Sergei Murashov made 23 saves on 25 shots for the Wheeling Nailers in a 3-2 win against the Cincinnati Cyclones at Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati.

The result boosted Murashov’s record to 12-2-0 while forward Jack Beck had a goal and an assist for Wheeling (19-5-1-0).

Highlights:

The Nailers’ next game is a home contest against the Iowa Heartlanders on Saturday, 7:10 p.m.
