Minor league report: Valtteri Puustinen leads Penguins to overtime win

An overtime goal by forward Valtteri Puustinen gave the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins a 3-2 home win against the rival Hershey Bears at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Friday.

Forward Alex Nylander and defenseman Juuso Riikola each recorded two assists for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (32-29-4-4) while goaltender Tommy Nappier made 28 saves on 30 shots in the victory.

Highlights:

The Penguins’ next game is a home contest against the Bridgeport Islanders on Saturday, 6:05 p.m.

Goaltender Louis-Philip Guindon made 26 saves on 28 shots for the Wheeling Nailers, who dropped their regular season home finale to the Fort Wayne Komets, 2-1, at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.

Forward Sam Houde scored the lone goal for Wheeling (37-30-4-0).

The Nailers’ regular season finale is a road contest against the Komets on Saturday, 7:30 p.m.
