Minor league report: Vinnie Hinostroza, Penguins hold off Thunderbirds

A goal and an assist by forward Vinnie Hinostroza led the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to a 2-1 home win against the Springfield Thunderbirds at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Sunday.

Linemate Alex Nylander recorded two assists for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (21-14-5-0) while defenseman Owen Headrick contributed a goal.

Goaltender Magnus Hellberg made 22 saves on 23 shots and improved his record to 7-6-1.

Highlights:

The Penguins’ next game is a home contest against the Hartford Wolf Pack on Wednesday, 7:05 p.m.
