BERTHOUD, Colo. — Trailing by seven shots entering the final round, Mt. Lebanon’s Neal Shipley won The Ascendant for his second Korn Ferry Tour victory of the season and his career, shooting an 8-under 64 on Sunday for a one-stroke margin.

The 24-year-old Central Catholic graduate finished at 18-under 270 at TPC Colorado.

Shipley closed with a birdie on the par-4 18th in a round that included a 7-under par 29 on the front nine. He made an eagle on the 368-yard par-4 sixth hole and five birdies. He overcame a double bogey on the par-5 13th with a birdie on the par-3 13th and the birdie on the final hole to beat Jorge Fernández Valdes (68) and Kevin Dougherty (69) by one stroke.

Shipley also won the LECOM Suncoast Classic in April in Florida.
