Neal Shipley plays the 2024 Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Country Club.

Neal Shipley has almost secured a spot on the PGA Tour in 2026.

Another win for the Mr. Lebanon native on the Korn Ferry Tour this season would earn him an automatic promotion to the PGA Tour, effective for the next full-field event.

Shipley shot an 8-under par 64 on Sunday during the final round of The Ascendent at TPC Colorado to claim his second win of the season.

Shipley is fourth in the Korn Ferry points standings. The top 20 finishers at the end of the year get promoted to the PGA Tour as well.

“I am in a good position,” Shipley said. “Something bizarre would happen the rest of the way for me not to get my PGA Tour card. I think the pressure is off me. Another win would be nice.”

Shipley and Greensburg native Mark Goetz, who just missed the cut last week, travel east to Springfield, Mo., for the Price Cutter Charity Championship beginning on Thursday.

Top 20 finish for Palmer

Murrysville native Palmer Jackson continued his solid play by tying for 19th at the HotelPlanner.com D+D REAL Czech Challenge at Royal Beroun Golf Club in Beroun, Czech Republic.

Palmer shot a 1-under par 69 to finish at 13-under 267. He had 17 birdies, seven during Round 3, an eagle and six bogeys.

His best round was Saturday when he shot a 6-under 64.

He ranks 18th in the HotelPlanner Standings. The top 20 finishers earn a promotion to the DP World Tour.

Jackson’s next event is the German Challenge powered by VcG at Wittelbacher, Golf Club at Neuburg an der Donau, Germany beginning on Thursday.
