The Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens are heading to prime time for their New Year’s Day matchup at M&T Bank Stadium.

The NFL announced Sunday that the game has been flexed to 8:20 p.m. and will be televised by NBC. It originally was supposed to be played at 1 p.m.

The game holds playoff implications for the Ravens (10-5), who have a chance to catch the Cincinnati Bengals (11-4) in the AFC North. Both teams have earned playoff berths.

The Steelers (7-8) remain mathematically alive for a wild-card berth, although they must win their final two games and get considerable help from others. The Steelers have won five of seven games since the bye and are coming off a 13-10 victory against the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday night.

The Steelers-Ravens game replaces the matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers, which moves to a 4:25 p.m. time slot.

The Ravens defeated the Steelers, 16-14, when the two teams played Dec. 11 at Acrisure Stadium.
