The fantasy sports landscape could suffer quite a shake-up if that 18-16 regular season split is adopted by the NFL.

Imagine how that would impact fantasy lineups and strategies. I see none of that being for the better — in fantasy sports or real life.

We talk to Jeff Erickson of Rotowire about that worry in our weekly fantasy sports podcast. And he seems to agree with my concern.

Other fantasy topics we discuss include the trickle down of the Pittsburgh Steelers receiving game in the absence of Antonio Brown. Also, is Baker Mayfield’s bravado accurate concerning Odell Beckham Jr. in Cleveland as opposed to New York?

Then there are the developing storylines in Los Angeles and Dallas regarding running backs Melvin Gordon and Ezekiel Elliott.

On the baseball front, trade season is making fantasy owners watch the rumor mill very closely. We track that, too.

The Pirates, Diamondbacks, Rangers, and Giants are some of the more intriguing teams to monitor.
