Shown during a game last season, Pittsburgh Steelers starting left guard Isaac Seumalo (No. 73) sat out practice Wednesday. Seumalo suffered a triceps injury during the Steelers victory against the Miami Dolphins on Monday.

Nick Herbig, Isaac Seumalo and James Pierre missed the first Pittsburgh Steelers practice of the week Wednesday, but Derrick Harmon was a full participant for the first time since suffering a knee injury last month.

Herbig, an outside linebacker, suffered a hamstring injury late in Monday night’s win against the Miami Dolphins. Starting left guard Seumalo left the game with a triceps injury, and Pierre sat out because of a calf ailment suffered the week prior when he started at cornerback for a victory at the Baltimore Ravens.

A rookie defensive tackle, Harmon missed a third straight game. But coach Mike Tomlin on Tuesday had said it was likely Harmon would return to play in his hometown when the Steelers face the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

Third-string left tackle Andrus Peat remains in NFL concussion protocol but practiced for the first time since leaving the Dec. 7 win at the Baltimore Ravens. He was regarded Wednesday as a limited participant on the injury report.

Dylan Cook started Monday in Peat’s place.

If cleared, Peat also is an option to play at guard if Seumalo doesn’t play.

Receiver and special-teamer Ben Skowronek remains a regular on the injury report because of a hand injury even as he keeps playing in games. Skowronek was limited Wednesday.

T.J. Watt was not spotted at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on Wednesday, one week to the day since he suffered what his brother said was a partially collapsed lung that had him hospitalized for 48 hours.
