Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry stops Toronto Maple Leafs forward Ondrej Kase during the second period of a hockey game in Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena on Nov. 20.

Nine of the Penguins’ games have been rescheduled. The changes are part of a league-wide reshuffling of the overall schedule that was pockmarked by a number of postponements over the past three months because of issues related to covid-19.

Five of the Penguins’ games were previously postponed because of matters related to the virus.

For the league overall, many of the games have been rescheduled for February when the NHL originally intended to take a multi-week break for the Winter Olympics. After the NHL and NHL Players’ Association reached an agreement to not participate in the Olympics in December, that opened up the possibility to reschedule games in February.
