Kate McCauley brings a wealth of experience to her new position at Saint Vincent College.
McCauley, a Norwin and SVC grad, was named the head men’s volleyball coach at her alma mater.
She currently is a third-year assistant with the women’s volleyball team and works as positions manager of operations for the football team.
McCauley was an assistant athletic director for two years at SVC from 2018-20 and helped with day-to-day operations in Bearcats sports. She also was the assistant tournament director of the 2019 NCAA Division III National Volleyball Championship, hosted by SVC and Duquesne.
She formerly served as the boys volleyball coach at Gateway High School (2016-18) and also coached the Greensburg Central Catholic girls (‘15-18). While at GCC, she led the Centurions to WPIAL and PIAA championships in ’16.
As a player, McCauley played four years as a setter for the Bearcats.
“I am very excited to take over the men’s volleyball program,” McCauley said. “I know that I’m ready for it, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for myself and the program. I can’t thank the administration at Saint Vincent College enough to not only allow me to stay with the football program, but to give me the opportunity to be a head coach of a sport I am very passionate about.”
Look for the men’s team to be in shape. McCauley also supervises the strength and conditioning program for the women’s team.
McCauley began her coaching career with the Westmoreland Elite Volleyball Club, coaching ages 14-18 from 2010-19.
