Norwin grad Jenna Cole picks up AMCC honor

Jenna Cole is a criminal justice major at La Roche.

She may work in that field one day, but until then she’ll continue to bring decency to the paint for the Redhawks women’s basketball team.

Cole, a 6-foot junior forward out of Norwin, was lauded for her latest efforts Monday by being named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Player of the Week.

Cole, who leads the conference in scoring at 19.8 points per game, averaged 20.7 points and 10.3 rebounds over a three-game stretch for La Roche (11-7, 10-2) which is tied for the AMCC lead with Hilbert (15-4, 10-2).

Cole had 17 points and 13 rebounds in a 68-43 win over her former team, Pitt-Greensburg.She poured in 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Redhawks downed D’Youville, 78-67.

Cole, who has logged a team-best 34.8 minutes a game, has not fouled out all season.
