During his feud with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Antonio Brown has taken to social media often. His post Saturday night, though, seemed to come from the heart.

Brown, the star receiver whose Steelers tenure is in peril, posted a message on Instagram in which he thanked Steelers fans. Accompanying a short video of a limping Brown being helped off the field while Heinz Field fans chanted, “M-V-P,” the message on Brown’s page read:

“One thing I understand about this fan base and that I’ll never forget and always appreciate is your passion. Know that it’s all love this way and I am forever thankful for #steelernation ! (this is not a goodbye, just a thank u)”

Brown, who has played for the Steelers for nine seasons, is believed to be put on the trade market between now and March after he did not play in the regular-season finale and has not communicated with Steelers coach Mike Tomlin nor president Art Rooney II.

Previous posts to Brown’s verified Instagram account that have typically been more cryptic.
