The Seton Hill softball team rebounded from an opening loss in the NCAA Division II World Series and stayed alive with an 8-1 victory over Adelphi (N.Y.) in the loser’s bracket game Friday night in Denver.

The Griffins (42-11) will take on Cal State Dominguez Hills (42-22) at 4:30 p.m. (EST) Saturday in the double-elimination tournament.

All-Americans and Hempfield grads Jenna Osikowicz and Morgan Ryan each drove in two runs, and Ryan pitched a complete game with five strikeouts and no walks.

Osikowicz jump-started the offense with a hard-hit, two-run double in the third.

Ryan followed with a double to score Osikowicz.

Morgan Toal added an RBI, and Nichole McClendon added two hits and scored three times for the Griffins, who had three-run innings in the third and fifth innings.

They had 10 hits after Auburn-Montgomery held them to three on Thursday.

Adelphi finished the season at 47-15.
