Pryor Foundation hosting charity event tonight at Waterworks
Terrelle Pryor has given back to a number of causes during his professional football career.
He paid for his high school football team’s banquet last season and also helped Jeannette deter some of the cost for its championship rings.
The NFL free agent wide receiver and his Terrelle Pryor Family Foundation will host a “Rock and Shop” event for children in the Pittsburgh Boys & Girls Clubs from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Walmart in the Waterworks Shopping Plaza near Fox Chapel.
The event, the foundation said, will include food, shopping and T-shirts for around 200 children.
“Our foundation is dedicated to raising up leaders in our local community,” Pryor said. “I believe that mentoring, developing and investing in our youth is a sure and proven process to prepare our young people for leadership.”
A quarterback who shifted gears to play receiver, Pryor, 29, has played for seven NFL teams in six years, his most recent stint with the New York Jets. He has battled injuries since producing a 1,000-yard receiving season with the Cleveland Browns in 2016.
