Palmer Jackson has great start in Austria, cools off
Palmer Jackson could not have asked for a better start in the HotelPlanner Tour Interwetten Open at Oberhaus, Austria.
Jackson began the tournament by shooting an 8-under-par 61 during Round 1, which was held over two days. The first round was delayed by weather forcing Jackson to play six holes July 3 and 30 holes July 4.
He shot a 1-over 70 in Round 2. He shot a 2-under 67 and a 1-under 68 over the final two rounds to finish 10-under and tied for 44th.
He had 20 birdies and an eagle during his four rounds.
Jackson ranks 18th in the tour rankings, something he mostly ignores.
“I just want to continue to improve and focus on winning,” Jackson said. “I cannot concern myself about the rankings right now.”
The Korn Ferry Tour resumes Thursday at Berthoud, Colo., with the start of The Ascendant.
Neal Shipley and Mark Goetz are entered in the tournament.
