When the New England Patriots selected Penn State’s Caedan Wallace in the third round Friday night (68th overall), they got one of the most experienced offensive tackles in the NFL Draft.

Wallace (6-foot-5, 314 pounds) made 40 career starts, involving 1,276 snaps at right tackle for the Nittany Lions. He is one of only four players projected to be drafted at that position to play more than 1,000 snaps. He was ranked the 14th offensive tackle in the draft by The Athletic.

When confronted with top-100 projected draft choices in either the 2024 or 2025 drafts, Wallace had 51 pass sets and allowed one hurry and no sacks, according to Eric Galko, director of football operations for the East-West Shrine Bowl. Galko reported Wallace won nearly every rep against Ohio State’s defensive line.

Wallace’s athleticism should serve him well at the next level. He recorded elite numbers in the 10-yard split (1.73 seconds) and broad jump (9 feet, 8 inches) at the Shrine Bowl.
