Penguins' 2024-25 schedule released
The Pittsburgh Penguins will hit the road early and often to open the 2024-25 season.
On Tuesday, the NHL released the overall schedule for the entire league, and it has the Penguins playing 10 of their first 16 games as a visitor.
After opening the season Oct. 9 at home at PPG Paints Arena against the New York Rangers, the Penguins will visit the Detroit Red Wings (Oct. 10), Toronto Maple Leafs (Oct. 12) and Montreal Canadiens (Oct. 14).

Nov. 8 — A road contest against the Washington Capitals, the first of four meetings between the rivals.
Nov. 23 — For the first time, the Utah Hockey Club — composed primarily of players from the former Arizona Coyotes franchise — will face the Penguins at PPG Paints Arena.
Nov. 27 — The Penguins will have their traditional home game on the night before Thanksgiving against the Vancouver Canucks.
Dec. 3 — The Penguins will host the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers.
Dec. 23 — A Festivus matchup at home with the rival Philadelphia Flyers, the first of four meetings next season.
Jan. 17-29 — The Penguins will embark on a daunting seven-game cross-country road trip against the Buffalo Sabres, Capitals, Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks, Seattle Kraken, San Jose Sharks and the Utah Hockey Club.
Feb. 9-21 — A 12-day gap will exist as the NHL stages its 4 Nations Face-Off round-robin tournament between teams stocked with star talent from the United States, Canada, Finland and Sweden.
April 17 — The regular season concludes with a home contest against the Washington Capitals.
In total, there will be 14 sets of back-to-back games.
