The Penguins activated defenseman P.O Joseph from the NHL’s protocols for covid-19 and assigned him to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL).

With a number of players testing positive for covid-19 last week, Joseph was recalled from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Tuesday and assigned to the taxi squad. But upon arrival, Joseph tested positive himself and was placed into the NHL’s protocols for the virus.

This season, Joseph has appeared in four NHL games and has no points. In the AHL, he is Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s leading scorer among defensemen with 11 points (three goals, eight assists) in 16 games.

Note: The Penguins had a scheduled day off on Monday and are scheduled to practice on Tuesday.
