Penguins assign forwards Michael Chaput, Valtteri Puustinen to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

The Penguins assigned forwards Michael Chaput and Valtteri Puustinen to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Both players were recalled to the NHL roster on Monday and served as healthy scratches in each of the past two games. Neither has appeared in an NHL contest this season.

Chaput, 29, has appeared in 25 AHL games this season and has 12 points (three goals, nine assists).

The 22-year-old Puustinen, a native of Finland who is in his first season in North America, leads Wilkes-Barre/Scranton with 27 points (13 goals, 14 assists) in 40 games.
