Penguins defenseman Jeff Petry sidelined due to suspected left arm injury
Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Jeff Petry will miss Monday’s home game against the Dallas Stars because of an undisclosed injury.
Per coach Mike Sullivan, Petry is being evaluated for an “upper-body” injury.
Petry appeared to injure the left arm portion of his upper body during Saturday’s 3-1 home win against the Buffalo Sabres.
At the 18- minute, 9-second mark in the third period of that contest, Petry left the ice after being hit into the Penguins’ end boards by Sabres forward Alex Tuch and was holding his left arm while displaying considerable discomfort on his face.
After the game, Petry was available to media and indicated he was fine.
“It hurt,” Petry said. “But I’m all right.”
In his first season with the Penguins, Petry has appeared in 28 games and has 12 points (three goals, nine assists) as well as 22:20 of ice time per contest.
