Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman P.O Joseph was placed on injured reserve Monday afternoon.

An undisclosed ailment caused Joseph to be scratched during a 6-5 overtime home loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday.

Joseph was injured during a 3-2 home loss to the Boston Bruins on Saturday when he was hit by Bruins forward Mark Kastelic.

In 47 games this season, Joseph has recorded three assists while averaging 15:16 of ice time per contest.
